I love going for long walks in parks or along rivers! In these places I can spot a lot of cute dogs, either small or big, fluffy or short-haired, and running or chilling.
I also like Biology and understanding how nature works. Life exists in many forms that can look so different, which I find amazing!

For some diseases it can be very difficult to understand what happened to make someone sick. We try to resolve this in a way similar to “I spy”, where we can ask questions and take hints about what could be the way the disease works. We use information from many people from around the world and we can ask a lot of questions. Because computers are faster than humans in some tasks, we use them every day to ask these questions. Before we start asking these questions we also have to make sure that the information is not wrong. We all make mistakes so we need to be careful to find those mistakes and try to fix them.

My Typical Day:
I like to walk to work in the morning. In my job, I mainly work with my computer but I also talk to many people (for example doctors) to make sure I can help them in the research they are doing. I take breaks to make sure I am rested and concentrated.

As it takes me a while to be fully awake in the morning, I walk to work while I sip my coffee. I share my office with a few people so after having a brief chat about how we are doing, I start by setting up my work. I mainly work with my computer and I write programs that analyse information about a disease. I am currently working on a project that requires me to use a program that can take a long time. So while this is happening, I am checking my emails and deciding which are the most important tasks I need to do that day. I also meet a lot of people to discuss what is the best way to do our jobs so that we can help each other. Some of these people are doctors and others are working in the lab. I finish my day usually by going to the gym, cooking and enjoying a warm cup of tea (especially now that it starts getting cold outside).

My Interview

How would you describe yourself in 3 words?
curious nature-loving researcher
What did you want to be after you left school?
I didn't have a job title in my mind but I knew I wanted to help find cures in diseases that affect people.
Were you ever in trouble at school?
Yes :( I remember I had not studied for a history lesson and I could not answer any questions in class
If you weren't doing this job, what would you choose instead?
Probably a teacher because I want to help kids learn more about our world and its wonders!
Who is your favourite singer or band?
I like many bands! At the moment I enjoy listening to Beyonce :)
What's your favourite food?
Now that it starts to get cold, I enjoy a greek food called dolmades. The word sounds like doll + ma (like in mask) + th (like in the) + es (like in essay) :)
If you had 3 wishes for yourself what would they be? - be honest!
1. I wish I could see my family and friends more often. 2. I wish I could find a cure for all diseases tomorrow! 3. I wish I had a dog!
Tell us a joke.
Why did the teacher wear his sunglasses to class? Because his students were so bright. :)
