Louisse Mirabueno answered on 17 Nov 2023:
Cloning is really fascinating but it also has some potential dangers. It is a risky and imperfect procedure – it doesn’t create quite an exact copy of an individual. When a clone is successful, the clone can have an increased risk of serious genetic malformation causing disorders, cancer, or shortening the lifespan. Cloning is also ethically concerning, especially in animals including humans.
But remember, just because we can do something with technology doesn’t always mean that we should – as scientists it’s especially important to consider the ethical, moral, and safety implications as well!
