DNA, (the long name deoxyribonucleic acid) is in your cells in the nucleus, but mitochondria have their own DNA. The information in DNA is stored as code, which is 4 chemical bases adenine (A), guanine (G), cytosine (C), and thymine (T). which along with sugar and phosphate molcule make a nucleotide. Nucleotides are arranged in two long strands that form a spiral called a double helix which makes it look like a ladder. So DNA in the form of nucelotides (or the code) contains the instructions needed for an organism to develop, survive and reproduce.
